Derry City’s Walled City Music Festival features a number of events that highlight the work of contemporary Irish composers. CMC will be present at the festival and will host panel discussions with composers and performers ahead of each of the concerts featuring Irish composers on 31 July, 2 August.

Crash Ensemble open their residency at the Project Arts Centre with a launch featuring a performance by cellist and co-artistic director Kate Ellis.

The Kaleidoscope concert features Lynda O’Conner, Ailbhe McDonagh, Deirdre Moynihan, Alec O’Leary, Toner Quinn and Malachy Burke as well as a new audiovisual work by young Irish composer Leonie Bluett.

Anúna – now in their 25th year – will perform a concert at the National Concert Hall of works performed written or arranged by the choir’s Artistic Director, Michael McGlynn.

The first concert in CMC’s 4-part concert series focusing on solo instruments takes place in the Exchange Arts Centre, Temple Bar with harpist Andreja Malir.

As part of the Irish Youth Choir’s Soundworlds tour, Jonathan Nangle’s commissioned work, to see a landscape as it is when I am not there, receives its second performance.

Paul Flynn’s Suibhne Faoi Bhodhrán Gealaí (Sweeney Under a Full Moon) is premiered in Cavan
