A number of Ed Bennet’s works will be performed during November

UK-based Irish composer Ed Bennett has a busy month ahead with performances of his works taking place in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium.

On 10 November a new work for midi organ and Dutch new music ensemble Orkest de ereprijs, Organ Grinder will be premiered at the Orgelpark, Amsterdam. While 14–15 November will see the premiere of Even, a new dance work with Belgian and Finnish choreographers Caroline D’Haese and Leena Keizer in Brussels.

The composers’ work also features at a concert given by the Crash Ensemble at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. His work Stop-Motion Music forms part of all-Irish programme by the festival’s ensemble-in-residence on 19 November.

On 22 November, Bennett’s Dzama Stories is performed by saxophonist Paul Dunmall and Decibel in the AE Harris Factory in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Dzama Stories is a collaboration between Ed Bennett and legendary British saxophonist Paul Dunmall. Featuring Decibel, an ensemble of ten performers, the piece draws influence from the work of the “outsider” Canadian artist Marcel Dzama, and is a combination of pre-composed and freely composed sounds.

Tickets for Dzama Stories are available from www.thsh.co.uk.
