Get your scores in the post! The deadline for entries for Free State, Crash Ensemble’s annual open submission concert is Sunday 30th October.
If you are a composer from or based in Ireland Crash Ensemble would like to receive your works for consideration. Selected pieces will be performed by Crash Ensemble in a Spring 2012 concert in Dublin.
Curating Free State 7 are Donnacha Dennehy, Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble and Andrew Hamilton, Composer. Andrew’s work has been performed internationally and at many festivals including Gaudeamus, Ultraschall Berlin, ISCM World Music Days, RTE Living Music Festival, SPOR Festival Aarhus, Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Die Reihe Stuttgart and the MATA Festival New York.
Works should be for instruments within the ensemble (Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Piano, Electric Guitar, Percussion, Clarinet, Flute, Trombone), not exceeding 20 minutes. The piece can include electronics but ideally not a click-track. Solo pieces for any of these instruments will also be accepted. Please send all submissions as a PDF score (and MP3 if available).
